Wedding Dresses Through The Decades

Starting with the 1800’s   While in Nashville on babysitting duty for our daughter, I saw in the news there was a “Wedding Dresses Through The Decades” display in the near by town of Murfreesboro, TN presented by Maney Hall at Oaklands Historic House Museum . This was the 5th Annual Award Winning Exhibit. On display for gowns from the 1840’ thru what they predict will be the hot gown for 2016. We traveled through time from the brocade and silk of the mid 1800’s to the stories and suits of the wartime brides in the 1940’s. Wasn’t sure when I drugged my husband along with me what he would think of having to view all the gowns but we were both pleasantly surprised at the exhibit. It was beautiful, educational and the ladies we visited with really gave us the southern ladies hospitality tour. The exhibit was presented in partnership with the Human Sciences Department of Middle Tennessee State University, and sponsored; in part by Encore Bridal & Formal Wear,  Jo’s Custom Cakes & Catering and The Write Impression.   Thank you for supporting this exhibit and making it possible for the public to view such an amazing exhibit.

Of course my favorite because it was the 70’s

Early 2000’s to 2005 Wedding experts are predicting this will be the hot 2016 wedding gown. The Oaklands Mansion alone is a must see if you are ever in the area. Think my next project will be bring such an exhibit of this nature to Northern Colorado in the near future.
