Barn Wedding in Colorado
Starting to plan your barn wedding in Colorado for this summer or early fall? Looking for an outdoor wedding venue? Look no further than Loveland’s Ellis Ranch Event Center and Wedding Park. While a barn wedding is rustic and romantic, the logistics can make it difficult. Instead, have your barn wedding at a fully-staffed wedding ranch with all the facilities you and your guests need. Not only is Ellis Ranch located in the gorgeous foothills of the Rocky Mountains, but our venue has a rustic feel with barn-style decor to make your day perfect. Let’s take a look at the two venues we have to offer for your barn wedding in Colorado.
The Event Center- The Event Center at Ellis Ranch is a beautiful rustic barn-style venue that is perfect for larger weddings and has a capacity of up to 450. If you need a larger venue, this is the perfect setting for you. The Event Center offers indoor and outdoor options. The outdoor wedding park is gorgeous, with a backdrop of the beautiful hillside and a canopy of mature trees, both of which are perfect for photos after the ceremony. Inside, there is more room than you can imagine making it perfect for the wedding of your dreams.
The massive bar is not only beautiful but can accommodate up to three bartenders, ensuring your guests spend more time dancing than in line. There is a dance floor that’s perfect for those who want to party with a raised stage for the DJ. There is no doubt that your guests will want to pack the dance floor. When it comes to the perfect vibe for a barn wedding in Colorado, The Event Center also has two full-size wagons in the building, which are perfect for the guestbook and gift “table” and the cake-cutting table backdrop. We also have more rustic decor to offer our guests, such as whisky barrels, spools, and much more that can be used at either venue.
The Carriage House- The Carriage House at Ellis Ranch is the perfect site for a smaller, more intimate barn wedding in Colorado. With a capacity for up to 100 people, it provides a stunning view that will make your special day one to remember. With a view of the gorgeous trees and both mountainsides, your guests will be in awe. The carriage house features a wedding gazebo and beautiful rustic wood benches. After the ceremony, guests gather on the huge deck under a canopy of mature trees and lights for cocktails. Dinner is served in the pavilion area, and on our beautiful Colorado days, guests dine “al fresco” and if the temperature gets a little chilly in the evening, we can take the side walls down and you’re inside nice and toasty. First dances are hashtag-worthy on the gorgeous deck and the charming outdoor bar is a true guest favorite!
Now that you know about our two venues for your wedding day, you can choose which would be best for you and your wedding vision. Once you have the location, then you can really start focusing on the decor. While we have many wedding and other event decoration items to offer you to choose from, you’re welcome to bring your own as well.

The Ideas for Your Barn Wedding in Colorado
- Pallet crafts. Barn themes are all about repurposing everyday items you’d find around the farm. Pallets are a versatile item for your barn wedding. Stacked together, they make cute coffee tables for cocktail hour. They’re also great decorations when stacked on their sides. Write out the day’s schedule or the seating chart on a pallet. Painted and stained pallets make great backdrops, especially when you add flowers. The possibilities are endless.
- Giant Jenga & yard games. After the ceremony, you’ll be off taking pictures with your new spouse. Get the fun started for your guests with giant Jenga and yard games like cornhole and ladder golf. It’s a great way to keep everyone entertained if you have a lot of young guests or if you’re not planning on having a cocktail hour. The games can continue after dinner for those who need a break from dancing.
- Mason jars. Mason jars are practically synonymous with barn weddings. Like pallets, they’re versatile and easy to find. Use them as centerpieces with flowers and decorations as fairy lights. Another idea we love is to label each jar for your guests to use throughout the night as drinking glasses.
- Pops of color. You’ll have lots of natural hues from the wood and greenery at your barn wedding. Plan some pops of color to break things up. Colorful flowers are beautiful decorations – and they still fit the earthy vibe. Try to use your bridesmaid dresses in the color scheme – pretty pinks or relaxing blues are beautiful contrasts to browns and greens.
- Late-night bonfire. What would a barn wedding in Colorado be without a bonfire at the end of the night? It’s the perfect place for guests to gather while they take a dancing break. You can even save money on late-night snacks and instead have a s’mores station. Be sure to have a few blankets ready by the bonfire. Out in the mountains, even a hot summer day can turn into a cool night.

“Just had my wedding there Sunday the 24th and let me say it was beautiful! Everyone there was really nice and helpful. I went with the DJ and wedding coordinator package and all of it was amazing! Shawn and Kim answered any questions I had leading up to the wedding in a fast manner! My day was stress-free! The bartender was also amazing! I would recommend this place to get married or to even do any type of event there due to the awesomeness of the staff and owners!” -Katherine
“My husband and I just got married at Ellis Ranch in November of 2023 and it was a dream come true. From the start, they were not only breathtaking in how beautiful inside and outside was but they were so helpful. They answered calls, texts, and emails if we had any questions. We went to a couple of open houses which was really nice for the family to see it and make more choices. I can’t say enough good things about Ellis Ranch and the owners.” -Kalista
“We celebrated our daughter’s wedding here and could say enough great things! If you’re looking for a venue that is close to the mountains but still an easy drive, that allows you to do as much or as little as you want, won’t completely break the bank and has plenty of room for a big bash this is a place to add to your list!” -Jenny
